Bollywood is one of the largest film industries in the world and the film industry is doing a great work at the box office in current time. So let’s start with the January month, in this month Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar starring movie Wazir was released on 8 January and the film did a decent box office collection at the box office. The film did 40 crores collection at the box office and became first hit film of the year. Then Akshay Kumar starring film Airlift released on the same month on 22^nd January and the film became the first blockbuster film of the year with the earnings of 130.29 crores. The film Airlift saw a clash with Ekta Kapoor’s film Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 and the film was a huge flop at the box office. The film Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 just did the collection of 30 crores at the box office, however the film was made on the budget of 25 crores but the film is third part of the series so makers are expecting more money from the film. 

Then Sunny Leone’s Mastizaade released on the last week of the month and the film did a very poor collection at the box office as see to the budget of the film. Tusshar Kapoor and Vir Das starring Mastizaade just did the collection of 38.42 crores collection at the box office. On the same date released film R. Madhavan starring Saala Khadoos also did a poor collection at the box office and become another flop of the month with the earnings of 14.75 crores. Then in the next month of February there are some movies which did a decent collection at the box office. As starting of the month Sunny Deol’s Ghayal once again and Mawra Hoccane and Harshvardhan Raane’s film Sanam Teri Kasam did average collection at the box office like Ghayal once again did 37 crores collection on the other hand Sanam Teri Kasam did 11 crores collection which is very good for the new comer actors. In the last part if we analyze the report then Akshay Kumar starring Airlift and Sonam Kapoor starring Neerja are the blockbuster movies of the year so far.

Box office collection for Bollywood Movies

Bollywood movies are growing day by day in the terms of box office collection, every year some movies break some previous box office collection record and merges new collection records. We will start the list with recent box office bomb film Dilwale. Shahrukh Khan starring this film already had created lots of buzz because of Rohit Shetty and Shahrukh are coming back together after the huge successful film Chennai Express. Another big point in the film was Shahrukh Khan and Kajol who had again pair up after a long five years gap but this thing doesn’t affect that much to the film’s performance at the box office. However the film opened very well in the theaters but due to clash with Ranveer Singh starring Bajirao Mastani the film didn’t peform well.

The film opened well and earned good money at the first weekend but failed to take jump on weekdays. Then the performance of the film falls day by day and at the last the film only earned 147 crores at the box office. The reason behind film being flop is competing with a largely acclaimed movie Bajirao Mastani and Shahrukh Khan’s comment on a big intolerance issue which affected to grab audience for the film. The film failed to impress the audience because they have made some negative image of Shahrukh Khan.

In this Aamir gave all time blockbuster film of Bollywood 3 idiots which earned 202.50 crores. After this year Bollywood introduced the real box office king Salman Khan. His movie Dabangg earned 145 crores and with this Salman Khan ruled box office continuously three years with Bodyguard earned 148 crores in 2011 and his film Ek Tha Tiger had earned 197.45 crores in 2012. Then In 2013 Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 had earned 282.40 crores and his next movie PK had earned 340 crores. In the last year 2015 Salman Khan again ruled box office with the earnings of Bajrangi Bhaijaan which had earned 320.34 crores.

After a much hyped film of 2015 Bajrangi Bhaijaan the other movies comes in the list called Dhoom 3. This film is one the biggest movie of Bollywood cinema which is not only in terms of business but also being the fantasy film. The third part stars Aamir Khan in lead villain also stars the previous lead actors Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra. The film made in the budget 175 crores but when the film got released this money became very low in terms of movie’s box office collection. The film earned 536 crores worldwide and that was record for any Bollywood movie during its releases.

Another name comes in the list is Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, this movie got released on Diwali 2015 and got acclaimed from everywhere. The movie stars Salman Khan, Sonam Kapoor and directed by ace filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya. The chemistry of Sooraj and Salman is world famous for that people watched this film. The film made in the budget of 110 crores but when comes in the box office collection of the film was 431 crores worldwide.
